To celebrate its centenary in 2024, the Brass Band L'Alpée de Vaulruz (Fribourg Canton, Switzerland) teamed up with the village's mixed choir to stage a major musical production. The project was led by Gérard Descloux, a musician with L'Alpée and a legendary figure in the region's musical community, who sadly passed away a few months later.
Gauthier Dupertuis composed the opening piece for the musical. Gérard Descloux had greatly appreciated Dupertuis’ work and had praised him on many occasions. It is therefore only natural that Dupertuis dedicated this slow, meditative piece to him, drawing on the main motifs of the musical's overture, Ô château adore (A Beloved Castle).
