A Brief Introduction to Pansori
- Pansori is performed by one singer and one drummer. The drummer maintains the rhythm (jangdan) with the use of the drum while the singer performs a long narrative poem by singing, narrating, and acting.
- In Pansori, songs and narrations alternate constantly. When the singer sings or speaks, he or she may open or close the fan, or act out the actions of characters of the work. In this literature Aniri is the narration mode. Jinyangjo, Jungmori, Jungjungmori, Jajinmori, Hwimori, Eonmori, Eotjungmori are singing modes of different rhythms.
