Chic set a standard for disco and brought people together by successfully incorporating the then new sounds into them most soulful and heartfelt disco ever. I was chatting with Eddie Gordon who runs Kings Of Spins, a worldwide collective of DJ's. He mentioned that everyone has done all the Chic hits and why not try something offbeat like "Chic Cheer"...and that is how this one came to be. I've been very lucky being able to remix most of their classic productions, but a challenge is a challenge and I hope you enjoy this new disco version of the Chic chestnut, "Chic Cheer". Some critics thought the song was self aggrandizing and said so, but I thought, what the hell, there were a lot less cool groups around and since Chic led us to the dancefloor numerous times, why not cheer themselves on, if you listen to the lyrics they ask you to join in, come celebrate with them!
