Titled and themed “弹情” (tán qíng), our show’s title is representative of the very genuine friendships and bonds we've built in our Chinese Ensemble. “弹情” (tán qíng) translates to "to play an instrument" — especially traditional Chinese instruments, often referred to as “琴” (qín). In this title however, we’ve replaced the word “琴” (qín) that means instrument, with “情” (qíng), that means feelings or emotions. This wordplay, when spoken, sounds identical and almost trivial, but it encapsulates the depth and complexity of emotions when we play our music — as if the music serves as a language for the undecipherable heart.
