China’s prestigious Shanghai Symphony Orchestra brings not one but two concerts to the Festival on 19 & 20 March 2026 at Auckland Town Hall.

Founded in 1879, SSO is Asia's oldest orchestra and widely recognised for its performance on the Grammy and Oscar-winning Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon soundtrack.

In this clip SSO perform ‘Deep Fried Sesame Balls’ from ‘Chinese Kitchen: A Feast of Flavours’, a vibrant ten-movement centrepiece inspired by signature Chinese dishes.
