Description
Despite constant turnover among the members of Chicago's own, the Radiants, since their formation in 1960, the group had been reduced to a trio by 1964 consisting of Maurice McAlister, Leonard Casten Jr., and Wallace Sampson. Following on the heels of their most successful single, Voice Your Choice, released in the fall of 1964 came the classic, It Aint No Big Thing, which peaked at #19 on the Cash Box chart, week ending 6/5/65. By early 1966 however, lead singer Maurice McAlister left the group to reunite with original member, McLauren Green, as a duo named Maurice And Mac as did Leonard Casten Jr., who decided to concentrate solely on songwriting and producing. By 1967, the Radiants were back to a quartet with Wallace Sampson, James Jameson, Mitchell Bullock, and Leonard Casten Jr. younger brother, Victor Casten. They would go on to usher in a new era of Radiants hits from 1968 through 1972.
