Description
A French-Canadian originally from Winnipeg, her recording career started in Vancouver. With her husband Bob Regan she sang some rockabilly and country, and they named themselves The Canadian Sweethearts. Then solo in 1964 she had a big hit with The French Song, and an album produced in Los Angeles involving Herb Alpert and Dorsey Burnette. Selections:
1) Freight Train - as The Canadian Sweethearts. Produced by Dorsey Burnette.
2) Colinda - maybe my favorite by her.
3) Yours - a followup to The French Song.
An early gem of theirs was "Eeny Meeny Miney Moe", a nonhit but now a rockabilly classic. That was first released in 1959, as Bob and Lucille.
Lucille is performing again now.
