~ I have to put my hands up here and say i'm not the biggest dead fan! for myself the period up to 'live dead' 1969 with all that went inbetween are my favourite years... here in an earlier incarnation as 'the emergency crew/the warlocks' (what ever they were calling themselves at that moment) entered 'golden state recorders' to lay down five demo's for 'autumn records' (here with you cant come down) the others being 'the friendly stranger/the only time is now/all you need & i know you rider' with i understand label owner tom donahue and his partner bob mitchell at the controls november 3rd '65....at that time just another garage band trying to make their mark but they did in 'pigpen' have a great blues singer & harp player & isn't it great to hear 'em in an uptempo mode?...by december 4th '65 they were billed as 'the grateful dead'...
